Childhood in Maplewood, NJ; Hamilton College 1969-73, interest in clay modeling; European travel; potter apprentice in Portland, ME until May 1975; Haystack Mountain School of Crafts, Deer Isle, ME 1975; taught pottery workshops in Portland area schools with support of the State Art Commission; employed through CETA program 1977-80: Director of children's museum in Portland; State Art Commission field coordinator for the artist-in-residence program; Assistant Director of State Art Commission 1985-88; developed art curriculum/requirements for Maine public school system; Director Haystack Mountain School of Crafts July 1988- ; current work in fundraising, establishment of school endowment, and maintaining diverse student population at Haystack.
